Panorama Walk - Barmouth

County: Gwynedd

Difficulty: Medium

Duration: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Wheelchair Friendly: No

Drive up Panorama Road on the edge of Barmouth as far as the parking area. On foot, retrace your route a few yards and turn left through the gate. The route (an out and back route) is signposted all the way. The path will first take you through farmland and then into a mountain woodland. Soon the real delights of the route will come into view as the trees open out to reveal the stunning views of the Mawddach Estuary. You will continue onwards and upwards to the headland where you will be treated to one of the finest views in the World. The River Mawddach winds its way from the Aran mountains in the East, passing beneath the lofty peak of the mystical Cader Idris, beneath the mile long Victorian railway bridge and out to the sea at Barmouth. Go in the summer when the heather is in bloom and the waters at their bluest, sit, drink in the views and breathe fresh sea air. You'll never want to leave. Of course as this is farmland please keep your dog under control at all times.
